Maintenance-free working BGM Pro ignition system including powerful 12V alternator including modern BGM Pro voltage regulator. The original Ducati (OEM manufacturer Piaggio) flywheel of the type Vespa PK125, is optimized by us in the flywheel mass and adapted with its own high-quality cone for use in the small-frame engines with small crankshaft stub.
CDI (IGNITION COIL)
The thyristor controlled high power CDI (high voltage capacitor ignition) produces a very stable and powerful ignition spark with up to 40000 Volt.
This always guarantees easy and reliable starting, even in the most adverse weather conditions and/or at low starting rpm.
The contactless ignition guarantees perfect combustion of the mixture even at the highest rpm, the infamous contact flutter is done away with.
PERFORMANCE
The weight-optimized pole wheel noticeably improves performance as well as acceleration without compromising the durability of the engine.
RELIABILITY
The BGM Pro conversion set is based on the technology developed by Piaggio. This is extremely robust and still the first choice for all touring riders, globetrotters and mileage hogs. BGM has further refined this technology and now makes it available with this set also for older vehicles. Once installed, you will never have to worry about it again.
LIGHT
Due to the light coils connected in series, the alternator generates high voltage even at low rpm and thus guarantees good illumination and visibility. As the speed increases, the voltage is limited to max. 14.2 volts by the enclosed BGM Pro voltage regulator. Compared to the original old alternator, you have, even at idle speed, an excellent light output without having to worry about the bulbs burning out at high speeds. The BGM Pro voltage regulator offers a regulated DC (max. 14.3V DC) output. At this output a battery can be charged and/or the current for e.g. a USB charging socket can be tapped (mobile phone, Navi etc.).
Notes: The DC current can only be measured correctly with a connected load. The DC output is always prioritized: If a lot of load is requested at the DC output, it is no longer available to the AC output.
CORD HIRE HARMONY
Technically it is (theoretically) possible in many cases to continue using the old cable harness (with modifications). However, this requires some electrical engineering knowledge, as the original wiring harness is often designed as a so-called short-circuit electrical system and its switches are therefore designed as breakers. In addition, the new alternator has only one current carrying cable which leads to the voltage regulator. From there the entire vehicle electrical system is supplied. The old original alternator, however, has individual coils for different supply areas.
We therefore recommend replacing the original wiring harness, which is usually desolate and oxidized due to age, with our new and perfectly fitting conversion wiring harness. The wiring harness comes with a suitable light switch (see also 'Accessories') and facilitates the conversion to a modern on-board electronic system enormously.
PASSEND
Suitable for all Vespa Small frame models that still have the small crankshaft cone (recognizable by the diameter of the crankshaft stub with Ø19mm on the running surface of the shaft seal ring. Normally the polar wheel nut has a M10 thread). Suitable for V50, 50N, SS50, SS90, V90, 90 Racer, V100, PV125, ET3, PK50 S, PK80 S, PK100 S, PK110 S.
Not plug and play suitable for V50 of the first series (V5A1T/V5SA1T with small engine flap, years of manufacture until approx.1965). Here a spacer for the fan wheel cover is needed (see accessories).
